Job summary

MB Aerospace Newton Abbot Ltd, a Barnes Aerospace Company, seeks trainees to operate and inspect work from three or more machines for aero engine components. Training will cover SOPs, quality checks and production recording. You will assist with mentoring new team members and maintaining clean, safe work areas.

Candidates should have NVQ 1 in mechanical engineering (desirable) and be able to handle a range of shifts. Experience with measuring instruments is advantageous; training provided.

Qualifications

• Daily production targets attainment.
• Ability to work a range of shifts.
• Using measuring instruments like vernier and gauges (training provided).
• NVQ 1 in Mechanical Eng. or similar desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clean and load components in fixture using datum faces.
• Operate machines per SOPs and company procedures.
• Inspect, measure and certify components against specs.
• Maintain machine and tooling, adjust coolant flow as needed.
• Record production data and non-conformances in PLMC.
• Mentor new team members and keep area clean and safe.
