Job summary

Safran Engineering Services UK seeks an Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer to improve manufacturing processes and drive efficiency on legacy projects in Pitstone. The role will coordinate APQP activities and work with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective production.

The position offers either Inside IR35 contracting or an 18-month fixed-term contract in the UK, with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quality engineering or industrial engineering, preferably in aerospace or related field.
• Strong understanding of APQP processes and methodologies.
• Strong industrial background.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to collaborate across functions.
• Familiarity with industry standards and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, SPC).
• Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive decisions.
• Be located in the UK and able to prove right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify improvements and implement changes.
• Design, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing workflows and layouts.
• Develop process documentation and standards; ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
• Support implementation of new technologies and methodologies in manufacturing.
• Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
• Contribute to KPIs to track performance and drive improvement.
• Lead APQP activities and coordinate from design through production and delivery.
• Provide training on APQP methodologies.
