Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Junior Harness Engineer to support the design, build and development of prototype electrical harnesses for aerospace and high-technology applications. The role requires hands-on harness manufacturing experience and adherence to high safety and quality standards.

On-site UK position with opportunities to grow within a regulated manufacturing environment, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and testing teams to deliver reliable harness solutions.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience building prototype electrical harnesses.
• EASA certification or experience to EASA aerospace standards.
• Strong skills in wiring, crimping, soldering and connector assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with harness inspection, testing, and fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of aerospace/defence manufacturing standards.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble and modify prototype electrical harnesses from drawings and specs.
• Perform wiring, crimping, soldering and connector termination.
• Inspect and test harness assemblies for quality and compliance.
• Support prototype development, troubleshooting and fault-finding.
• Maintain build records and manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing and testing teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with EASA, IPC and company quality standards.
• Adhere to health, safety and regulatory requirements in workshop.
