GKN Aerospace in Filton, Bristol is launching a two-year Skills Transfer Programme for Trainee Aircraft Fitters. You will complete a Level 3 apprenticeship and hands-on training to become a certified Aircraft Fitter.

Foundation training runs first 6–8 weeks with early 4-day or 7-day patterns; expected shifts include early mornings, with overtime and premiums where applicable. A strong learning mindset is essential.

Competenze

• You must have completed a Level 3 apprenticeship (or equivalent) in a relevant trade such as Motor Mechanics, Marine or Agricultural Fitting, Fabrication, Welding, Plumbing or Pipe Fitting, Sheet Metal Work, Pattern Making, Jig Erecting, Mechanical or A/C Fitting, or a similar engineering discipline.

Mansioni

• Over the two-year Skills Transfer Programme you will gain technical knowledge, practical skills and industry qualifications to become a fully trained Aircraft Fitter.
• Learning includes classroom-based and hands-on experience with pneumatic riveting, hole positioning and marking-out, drilling, filing and fettling, countersinking and wire-locking.
• All training is delivered at Filton by a dedicated assessor with milestones every 6–8 weeks to support progression.
