Job summary

GE Aerospace, Eastleigh, is offering a 12-month Data Science Placement where you may combine data and analytics with engineering or applications knowledge. The role supports aviation projects across engines business, analytics tools, dashboards, and insights to drive significant improvements.

You will be guided by a People Leader and collaborate with internal GE customers from across the UK. Applicants should be in penultimate year, pursuing a relevant degree, with Python and AI/ML awareness,

Qualifications

• Currently studying a Maths, Physics, Physical/Engineering Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, or Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree.
• On course to achieve a 2:1 degree or above.
• Penultimate year of study and returning to education post placement.

Responsibilities

• Applying analytical or ML methods to monitor trends and identify issues.
• Assisting in the development, test and deployment of analytics including dashboards/reports and the maintenance of existing capabilities.
• Assisting in the preparation of clear and insightful presentations.
• Structured problem solving and meeting timelines.
• Able to work in a team or independently.
• Communicating technical information to a range of stakeholders.
