Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Configuration & Data Manager to support defence and aerospace programmes in Luton. This predominantly onsite, 12-month contract role will oversee the identification, control, protection and traceability of engineering and programme data throughout the full product lifecycle.

The role requires delivering data management activities, ensuring data is correctly identified, structured, versioned and auditable, and working with cross-functional teams to support release

Qualifications

• Experience in data management within defence/aerospace or highly regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of data lifecycle control and information governance.
• Experience working to Data Management Plans and contractual requirements.
• Knowledge of configuration management and change control processes.
• Experience handling sensitive or export-controlled information.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Willingness to learn cryptographic data security concepts.
• Familiarity with PLM and document management tools would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver data management activities per approved Data Management Plans.
• Ensure data is identified, structured, versioned, approved and traceable.
• Maintain data status, integrity and visibility across datasets.
• Apply naming conventions, metadata, version control and lifecycle states.
• Support the creation, tailoring, and maintenance of Data Management Plans.
• Apply security classifications and access requirements to programme data.
• Provide data status reports, metrics and audit evidence.
• Collaborate with configuration, engineering, quality and programme teams to support milestones.
