Job summary

The Hyde is seeking an experienced Aerospace Coppersmith to join our fabrication team. You will manufacture precision sheet metal components, ducting and pipework assemblies for high-performance aerospace applications, interpreting engineering data to transform raw materials into complex, high-tolerance parts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Coppersmith / Sheet Metal Worker within aerospace or high-spec manufacturing.
  • Strong background working with precision sheet metal and fabricated assemblies.
  • Experience handling aerospace-grade materials such as aluminium, stainless steel or titanium.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of tolerances, form control and dimensional accuracy.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 (NADCAP awareness beneficial).
  • High level of manual dexterity and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, form, and assemble aerospace sheet metal components, including ducting, pipework and structural fabrications.
  • Work with materials including aluminium, stainless steel and titanium.
  • Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions.
  • Carry out marking out, cutting, forming and finishing operations.
  • Use hand tools, press tools, rollers and forming equipment to produce high-precision parts.
  • Ensure work complies with AS9100 quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct in-process inspection and self-verification of work to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality and production teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment in line with 5S principles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
