Job summary
Moog Aircraft Group is seeking an apprentice-trained, experienced Manual/CNC Grinder to join the Wolverhampton facility on a shift pattern after training. The role involves precision grinding of aerospace components, with strict tolerance requirements and the need to support customer-focused production.
Applicants should have a recognised engineering apprenticeship and proven cylindrical grinding experience, ideally with Studer equipment.
Qualifications
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- Cylindrical grinding experience essential.
- Mature grinding experience preferred.
- Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing role within aerospace.
- Good knowledge of machining techniques and tooling.
- Attention to detail and accuracy and process improvement.
- Using inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerance.
Responsibilities
- Experience in Setting, Operating Manual Cylindrical machines S20/RM250 and Setting CNC (Preferably Studer S33/S31).
- Capability of machining exotic and hardened materials.
- Carry out own 1st off inspection and complete quality documentation.
- Precision manual cylindrical grinding, working to 0.00005" tolerance.
- Able to set and run multiple machine/processes.
