Job summary

GE Aerospace’s Dowty facility in Brockworth, Gloucestershire, seeks a Calibration Apprentice to join the Facilities Department on a 4-year program to become a Calibration Technician. You will gain hands-on experience maintaining and calibrating aerospace equipment, attending Gloucestershire Engineering Training College and Teeside University, with online HNC learning.

You'll work part-time college, part-time in the workplace in years 2 and 3, and full-time in year 4, supported by mentors, gain

Responsibilities

• Planned Calibration & Maintenance: scheduled calibration checks and preventative maintenance on production equipment and site services.
• Equipment Repairs & Adjustment: diagnose faults, perform repairs and recalibration with first-time fix approach.
• Documentation & Traceability: log calibration results and equipment history in engineering systems with full traceability.
• Team Collaboration: provide detailed handovers to engineering colleagues.
• Safety Compliance: follow safety procedures and contribute to safety culture.
• Continuous Improvement: participate in process and cost improvements to enhance reliability.
• Regulatory Awareness: stay updated on calibration standards and regulatory requirements.
