Job summary

Senior Bird Bellows based in Congleton, Cheshire, designs and manufactures high-precision aerospace components. We are seeking an experienced Automated TIG Welder to join our aerospace manufacturing team and contribute to high-quality welds to exacting standards.

You will set up, program and operate automated TIG welding equipment, read drawings, follow welding procedures and ensure NADCAP compliance while maintaining records and tooling. A 4-day week and strong pension are among our benefits.

Qualifications

• Essential hands-on skills in automated TIG welding on thin materials, typically between 0.4mm and 3mm thick.
• NVQ Level 3 in Welding Engineering is desirable, apprenticeship route welcomed.
• Able to inspect work to company and customer standards, read drawings and follow job cards.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated TIG welding machines to manufacture precision aerospace components.
• Programme and set welding parameters to achieve optimal weld quality.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and job cards to ensure specification conformance.
• Maintain tooling and equipment and ensure NADCAP compliance.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
