Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Derby is seeking a Noise Aerothermal Engineer to own acoustic aspects for Civil Aerospace, predicting noise for future engines and in-service products, and validating designs through analysis and rig or engine testing.

You will collaborate with other engineering functions, suppliers and customers to meet demanding timelines, and lead technology programs to deliver low-noise solutions, shaping the future of aerospace.

Qualifications

• Requires MEng in Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in aeroacoustics, gas turbine cycle design, aero-thermal or aerodynamics.
• Experience in gas turbine full engine or rig testing and analysis desirable.
• Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide component design advice to meet noise requirements.
• Estimate noise performance of new or in-service engines under deadlines.
• Liaise with programme leadership and external customers and suppliers.
• Manage experimental activities and acquire relevant acoustic data.
• Lead research and technology programmes for low-noise tech.
• Collaborate with partners and academia to develop noise capability strategy.
