Job summary

Williams Racing in the UK is seeking a CFD Engineer to advance the aerodynamic CFD capability across external, internal and thermal domains. You will build, refine and validate models, correlating CFD results with wind tunnel and track data to shorten development cycles and boost performance.

You will develop new methods, write Python and shell tooling, and document changes for traceability. A strong grounding in fluid mechanics, numerical methods and clear communication are essential in this

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in fluid mechanics and numerical methods.
• Degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or related numerical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience setting up, running and interpreting CFD simulations (geometry prep, meshing, solver config).
• Working knowledge of Python and Linux shell scripting, with a willingness to adopt best-practice code development.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail; strong written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable in a customer-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Developing, refining and running CFD models and tools across external, internal and thermal disciplines.
• Investigating miscorrelations against wind tunnel and track data; establish root cause and recommend corrective action.
• Tuning and enhancing department CFD recipes, and developing and validating methodologies that improve accuracy, efficiency and repeatability.
• Writing and reviewing Python and shell tooling for CFD analysis, automation and correlation, following source control and code review standards.
• Document model, methodology and correlation changes so results are traceable and reusable across the department.
