Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking an Aerodynamic AI Engineer to join a fast‑paced team. You will develop and deploy AI/ML models to enhance aerodynamic development, performance analysis, and operational efficiency in the Aerodynamics department.

You will translate engineering requirements into practical AI solutions, collaborate with CFD engineers, and stay current with emerging AI technologies for motorsport applications. This role offers challenging projects in a high‑performance environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing and deploying AI/ML models for scientific or engineering applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python with the PyTorch framework.
• Understanding of computational geometry principles and familiarity with mesh generation algorithms.
• Experience with statistical analysis and anomaly detection techniques for large scientific datasets.
• Strong software engineering practices including CI/CD pipeline development and code quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Master's or PhD in Engineering, Physics, CS, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience with NVIDIA PhysicsNemo or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics and CFD data analysis.
• Experience in motorsport, Formula 1, or aerospace aerodynamics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy AI models for the analysis of CFD data to support aerodynamic decisions.
• Build surrogate models for aerodynamic predictions focused on fluid dynamics.
• Develop AI‑driven mesh generation and automated geometry tools for aerodynamics.
• Analyze wind tunnel data for drift, anomalies, and statistical quality.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI model deployment and uphold code quality.
• Collaborate with aerodynamicists and CFD engineers to translate requirements into AI solutions.
• Stay current with AI tech relevant to CFD and aerodynamics.
• Identify AI opportunities to improve development efficiency within cost constraints.
