Job summary

Plumpton College is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Adventure Education & Sport to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment for students at levels 2 to 3. The role includes personal tutoring, progression planning and contributing to curriculum development.

You will support enrichment activities, trips, residentials and employer engagement while promoting inclusive practices and safeguarding across all learners. A passion for adventure education and student success is essential.

Qualifications

Relevant degree in Adventure Education to teach across levels 2–3.
Teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
NGB instructor or leadership qualifications (climbing, paddlesports, trekking).
In-date First Aid qualification relevant to the sector.
Level 2 or above in English and maths.
Sector experience and strong knowledge in Adventure Education.
Ability to teach to a consistently good standard.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
Collaborative, flexible and student-focused approach.
Understanding of safeguarding and student welfare.
Clean D1 driving licence.

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons to a consistently good or outstanding standard.
Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
Promote attendance, engagement and the development of English and maths skills within vocational learning.
Use college systems and technology effectively to support teaching, learning, assessment and tracking.
Act as a personal tutor, supporting induction, reviews, target-setting and progression.
Contribute to quality improvement, programme development and awarding organisation processes.
Support enrichment activities, trips, residentials, open events and employer engagement.
Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding in all aspects of the role.
