Job summary

Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains offers a 12 month Purchasing Placement scheme in our state-of-the-art Technology Centre. You will work alongside Formula 1 talent and influence the team’s performance through Procurement and Logistics, managing external supply chains and ensuring quality, delivery and cost targets.

You’ll gain exposure from design to race, raise orders, expedite deliveries and drive supplier performance improvements, with a path toward becoming a Technical Buyer or

Qualifications

• Must be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree or above in a relevant field.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities relevant to purchasing and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing innovative sourcing solutions and manage supplier relationships.
• Work with Purchasing to shape sourcing strategy and identify future needs.
• Participate in supplier negotiations and document outcomes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Programme Management, Quality, Build, Test, Manufacturing, IT and Finance.
• Engage with engineers during purchasing processes for Power Unit builds.
• Develop understanding of governance and how it affects the supply chain.
• Execute sourcing and procurement activities in line with Mercedes policies.
