The Vacancy

Newcastle College requires a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Electrical Installations or Electrotechnical across a range of levels of further education and/or apprenticeship provision. The main responsibilities include delivering and assessing high-quality learning programmes, undertaking programme leadership, tutorials, and administrative duties.

This role requires a strong background in Electrical and the Built Environment, with proven vocational expertise in the Built Environment with an electrical installation, domestic, commercial, or electrotechnical bias.

The candidate must be qualified to industry standards in relevant built environment electrical qualifications at Level 3 minimum, with AM2 and electrical inspection qualifications also required. A post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at Level 2 are necessary, or the candidate must be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. Experience in programme leadership in FE, HE, and/or Apprenticeships, along with successful teaching and assessment practice, is desirable.

Strong self-management, meeting deadlines, excellent communication skills, and good IT skills are essential. The hours may include evenings and weekends, depending on demand. This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated and successful team.
