Job summary

pladis Foods Limited in Halifax is seeking an Advanced Team Member to work on a fast-paced production line manufacturing cake-based, chocolate-enrobed products. You will perform pre-start checks, monitor product quality, operate equipment, and support changeovers and documentation processes.

The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to changing production needs; experience in a food factory is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out pre-start checks.
  • Carry out product quality evaluations throughout the shift.
  • Understand equipment and machinery set up.
  • Work in a cross-functional environment.
  • Complete changeovers to procedure.
  • Ensure documentation is filled in correctly and to standard.
  • Train peers and new operatives in equipment use.
  • Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance.
  • Communicate with relevant people to resolve issues.
  • Operate processes and equipment while ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Maximise plant efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Maintain housekeeping and GMP standards.
  • Support improvement initiatives.

What will this role achieve?

We’re looking for a motivated person to join us as a Advanced Team Member. You’ll work in a fast paced factory making products for a leading UK brand. You will be responsible for the manufacture of cake based, chocolate enrobed products on a continuous operation.

What will be your key deliverables?
  • Carry out all pre-start checks.
  • Carry out product quality evaluations throughout the shift.
  • Understand equipment and machinery set up.
  • Be able to work in a cross-functional working environment.
  • Ensure changeovers are completed to procedure.
  • Ensure all documentation is filled in correctly and to the right standard.
  • Shift handovers are completed in area and to agreed agenda.
  • Train peers and new operatives in equipment use and procedures when required.
  • Undertake basic problem diagnosis and maintenance.
  • Communicate directly with relevant person to resolve any issues.
  • Control and operate a variety of processes and equipment.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of process equipment whilst carrying out quality inspections.
  • Maximise plant efficiency whilst minimising waste.
  • Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained to the highest of levels.
  • Working to the highest standards of GMP.
  • Supporting the business with the generation of any improvement Initiatives.
Essential
  • Can work well with others and be open to learning and change.
  • We’re looking for people who can work flexibly and adapt to change. You’ll get support to help you succeed.
Desirable
  • Experience working with food or machinery in a quality-focused factory is valuable, but not essential.
  • Understand zonal Key Performance Indicators (production targets, waste levels and line performance).
What does the recruitment process consist of?

Assessments – Swift Comprehensive Aptitude and a Workplace English assessment. These should take around 60 minutes to complete.

Interview – 45-60 minute competency-based interview based on our company values and your experience. If you are an internal member of staff, you might not need to do all the assessments it is dependent on your current role.
