Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a knack for supporting students with special needs? If so, we want you to join our dedicated team at an excellent Client Secondary School in York, North Yorkshire, as an Advanced Teaching Assistant starting as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering interventions and activities to support students' reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
• Work alongside teachers in the classroom to support instruction, manage resources, and support students during lessons.
• Prepare and organise materials and resources for lessons and interventions.
• Supervise students during activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the overall school community through active participation.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a secondary school setting.
• Strong understanding of effective teaching methods and intervention strategies.
• Strong organisational skills to manage resources, plan interventions, and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to adapt and work collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies for supporting students with SEN.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.

This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must pass all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
