Job summary

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our adult inpatient team. You will develop expertise in managing complex communication and swallowing disorders across acute wards, with the potential to work within the Macmillan cancer therapy team and the ENT service as required.

Qualifications

Degree in Speech & Language Therapy recognised by RCSLT.
Registered with HCPC.
Achieved dysphagia competencies to specialist level.
Valid driving licence.
Evidence of relevant CPD.

Responsibilities

Work with adult in-patients across acute pathway to diagnose, assess and manage communication and/or swallowing problems.
Lead on specialist provision for patients referred with communication and swallowing disorders.
Participate, as needed, in the videofluoroscopy clinic.
Supervise junior staff and students.
Develop and participate in training programmes across acute and community MDTs.
