Job summary

Pulse Healthcare Limited is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join an adult acute service in Cheshire. You will provide specialist assessments and management for adults with swallowing and communication difficulties, across acute hospital wards, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery.

The role requires HCPC registration and proven dysphagia competencies, with a Band 6 level and a full-time, ongoing contract.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Experience working in adult acute Speech and Language Therapy services.
• Dysphagia competencies are essential.
• Experience managing patients with complex swallowing disorders in an acute setting.
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment and treatment for adults with speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders.
• Undertake dysphagia assessments and develop evidence-based management plans.
• Work across acute hospital wards supporting patients with medical and neurological conditions.
• Deliver patient-centered interventions to improve communication and swallowing function.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with professional standards.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
