Job description

Fostering | Longstanding Management | Outside IR35 | Travel Paid | Stable 6-Month Contract

Looking for a change of scenery just in time for summer?

Leaders in Care are working with a well-established local authority based in the beautiful Channel Islands to offer an excellent rate of £51.50 p/h for an experienced practitioner to join the Fostering & Adoption team as an advanced social worker.

In this role, you will provide essential support to children in foster care, adoptive families, and those considering adoption. Your responsibilities include assessing needs, offering practical help, and prioritising children’s safety and well-being. You will join a close-knit team to support vulnerable children and families, making a positive impact on their lives. The role includes a protected caseload and some management responsibilities, working closely with the team manager and supporting less experienced social workers.

Benefits include:

  • A great rate of £51.50/h
  • This position is outside IR35, leading to increased take-home pay compared to the mainland.
  • Manageable caseloads, with cases evenly split across the service to ensure workload remains manageable.
  • Beautiful location in the Channel Islands.
  • Subsidised accommodation and paid travel at the beginning and end of your contract.
  • Vacancies within the service are rare, offering stability.
  • Supportive and experienced management team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for an ever-improving council that prioritises service enhancement. If you enjoy seeing the tangible results of your work with children and families, this role could be a great fit for you.

As this is a statutory role, you require a social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
