Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting an Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join the Non-Case Holding Team in Newcastle upon Tyne. This locum position offers flexibility with Full Time or Part Time hours and an attractive hourly rate.

The role focuses on complex child protection work without long-term caseholding responsibility, in a dynamic Children’s Social Care environment. You will provide expert consultation, support QA activities, and mentor colleagues while working within a supportive team

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Social Work is required.
• Post-qualifying training or leadership development in safeguarding/child protection is preferred.
• Ongoing professional development is expected.

• Provide expert social work consultation and guidance on complex child protection, child in need, and care proceedings cases.
• Support quality assurance activities through case audits, thematic reviews, practice observations, and performance monitoring.

• Act as a practice mentor and coach for Social Workers, Newly Qualified Social Workers, and colleagues.

What you will do:

Person Specification:

Qualification:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
• Post-qualifying training or advanced professional development in safeguarding, child protection, or leadership practice.
• Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to children’s social care.

Registration & Compliance:

• Current registration with Social Work England.

Experience:

• Significant post-qualification experience within Children’s Social Care.
• Demonstrable experience managing or advising on complex safeguarding and child protection cases.
• Experience undertaking practice audits, quality assurance reviews, and service improvement activities.
