Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Senior Social Work Practitioner to join the Child Protection Team in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will conduct assessments, develop care plans to safeguard children, and work with families and professionals to coordinate interventions.

Hybrid role with a locum 3-month contract and £31.74 per hour. You will attend court, supervise junior staff, and ensure children's voices are central to decision-making while managing caseloads across diverse cases.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop care plans that safeguard children and support families.
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to manage cases and facilitate interventions.
• Prepare and present Section 7 and Section 37 reports, as well as Child Impact Reports.
• Provide expert guidance and support to junior social workers within the team.
• Engage with children, families, and carers to ensure their voices are included in decision-making.
• Attend court proceedings and represent the council with confidence and professionalism.
• Participate actively in supervision sessions and training programmes to advance professional development.
