Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Hereford is seeking a Band 6 Advanced Practitioner in Radiotherapy. You will operate and supervise radiotherapy procedures, perform imaging and treatment planning, and support junior staff while upholding high standards of patient care.

The role includes managing daily treatment machine operations, covering senior duties if required, and contributing to research and QA within a progressive oncology centre.

Qualifications

• BSc in Radiotherapy or equivalent and HCPC registration.
• Evidence of post-registration experience in radiotherapy.
• Experience with IGRT and radiotherapy IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and supervise complex radiotherapy procedures under IRMER requiring precise patient and machine positioning.
• Manage daily operation and organisation of the treatment machine; act up in absence of Band 7 lead.
• Perform volumetric imaging, treatment placement decisions and on-set KV imaging.
• Provide evidence-based advice on treatment-related side effects and supervise juniors.
• Update Quality Management System and ensure equipment safety; cover Bank Holidays as needed.
