Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking an Advanced Public Health Practitioner to shape and support Worcestershire's suicide prevention agenda. You will work across NHS partners, local authorities and community organisations to deliver prevention interventions and system-wide improvements.

The role involves coordinating the Suicide Prevention Partnership Group, real-time surveillance, and working with lived experience to reduce inequalities. 35 hours per week, permanent contract.

Qualifications

• Experience in public health, health improvement, mental health, commissioning or partnership working.
• Passionate about improving population health and delivering meaningful change around suicide prevention.
• Ability to work with NHS partners, local authority services, community and voluntary organisations.
• Experience coordinating cross-agency groups and translating evidence into action.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a real-time suspected suicide surveillance system.
• Lead Worcestershire Suicide Prevention Partnership Group and Suicide Audit Group coordination.
• Deliver evidence-based suicide prevention interventions and system-wide improvements.
• Collaborate with partners to reduce inequalities and identify needs.
