Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) Team. You will provide professional leadership, supervise social workers, and support complex assessments and care planning for young people aged 14-25 transitioning to adulthood.

You will lead on safeguarding, risk management, and contribute to service development while working in a hybrid model with flexible hours. Registration with Social Work England is required.

Qualifications

• Requires registration with Social Work England and solid experience in safeguarding and risk assessment.
• Must be able to supervise and develop staff within a social work team.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflective support to social workers and team members.
• Lead on complex assessments, care and support planning, safeguarding enquiries and risk management.
• Support the Team Manager in day-to-day operation of the service.
• Promote positive outcomes for young people preparing for adulthood through collaborative practice.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement.
