Job summary

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an Advanced Practitioner for the Learning Disability & Autism Team in Oldbury. Hybrid working, 37 hours per week, permanent contract.

You will supervise staff, oversee Care Act assessments, and work closely with NHS colleagues to deliver high-quality adult social care. The role requires a Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration, with an enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experience in Learning Disability & Autism teams strongly preferred.
• Enhanced DBS check required for adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional supervision to team members.
• Prioritise enquiries and ensure timely Care Act assessments.
• Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of Care Act 2014 and related frameworks.
• Supervise on a day-to-day basis and work with NHS/other professionals.
• Act as budget holder for delegated resources and monitor spend.
