Job summary

UHDB’s Women’s & Children’s Pharmacy Team at Royal Derby Hospital in Derby is seeking an Advanced Pharmacist to lead clinical services and ensure safe, cost-effective medicines use. The post offers strategic impact and cross-site collaboration within UHDB.

The successful candidate will provide advanced clinical input, support service development, and contribute to governance, education, and workforce development within a dynamic multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• GPhC registration with current status.
• Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
• Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. NPPG).

Responsibilities

• Deliver an advanced clinical pharmacy service to Women’s and Children’s services at the Royal Derby Hospital.
• Provide specialist medicines optimisation advice to multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead and support service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to medicines governance and safety, including incident review and risk reduction.
• Support and develop junior pharmacists, technicians, and trainees.
• Contribute to financial stewardship and medicines optimisation strategies.
• Deputise for the Divisional Lead Pharmacist when required.
• Collaborate with cross-site teams including Queen's Hospital Burton when needed.
