Job summary

Locum Ready invites an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to deliver autonomous, clinic-based sessions across Bridport’s primary care network. You will run ANP-led clinics, manage acute and minor illnesses and provide triage both by phone and in person, while maintaining high standards of patient safety and documentation.

The role offers flexible, sessional work with full clinical autonomy and support from Locum Ready across regional primary care services.

Qualifications

• Level 7 Advanced Practice qualification is required.
• Independent Prescribing (V300) is required.
• Experience in GP, urgent care or community settings is preferred.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is expected.

This role offers structured sessions within established primary care clinics, giving you full autonomy over your clinical practice while maintaining consistency in your working environment.

You will deliver advanced assessments, manage same-day presentations and support routine patient demand within well-supported GP and community services. Each clinic provides clear pathways, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Running autonomous ANP-led clinics within primary care settings
• Managing acute, undifferentiated and minor illness presentations
• Conducting telephone and face-to-face triage
• Prescribing safely within scope of competence
• Reviewing results and handling routine follow-up actions
• Recording accurate clinical notes within the clinic’s digital systems

Requirements

• Strong diagnostic reasoning and communication skills
• Confidence working autonomously in new environments
