Job summary

Torquay-based Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) role offering flexible hours with both full-time or part-time consideration within a supportive primary care team.

The ANP will work autonomously across a broad range of presentations, provide telephone and face-to-face consultations, manage chronic conditions, and collaborate with GPs, Practice Nurses and Clinical Pharmacists to ensure safe, patient-centred care and ongoing service improvement.

Qualifications

• NMC registered and qualified as ANP/ACP.
• Independent Prescriber status or qualification.
• Experience in primary or urgent care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with acute and minor illness.
• Prescribe safely within scope of practice.

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum depending on experience
Hours: Full-time or part-time considered

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join a forward-thinking and well-established primary care service in Torquay.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ANP looking for a role where they can work autonomously, utilise their full clinical skill set and become an integral part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The Role

As an ANP, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a broad range of primary care presentations.

You will have the opportunity to work autonomously while having the support of an experienced clinical team around you.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Independently assessing, diagnosing and managing patients presenting with acute and minor illness
• Developing and reviewing appropriate treatment and management plans
• Prescribing safely within your scope of practice
• Managing undifferentiated and complex presentations
• Requesting and interpreting appropriate investigations
• Providing telephone and face-to-face consultations
• Managing patients with long-term conditions where appropriate
• Identifying when onward referral or escalation is required
• Working closely with GPs, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists and the wider MDT
• Supporting effective clinical decision-making and patient flow
• Contributing to clinical governance, audits and service improvement
• Supporting and developing other members of the clinical team where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

You will ideally be:

• An NMC registered Nurse
• Qualified as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Clinical Practitioner
• An Independent Prescriber
• Experienced within Primary Care, Urgent Care or a similar autonomous clinical environment
• Confident assessing and managing undifferentiated patients
• Clinically autonomous with excellent decision-making skills
• Passionate about delivering high-quality patient care
• Keen to continue developing professionally
