Job summary

DHU Healthcare is hiring an Advanced Practitioner to join our urgent care team across Northamptonshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. The role requires you to assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions within urgent and emergency care settings, using advanced clinical skills to support autonomous decision-making.

Applicants should be Registered with NMC/HCPC/GPhC with independent prescribing rights and hold Level 7 qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Must hold MSc (Advanced Practice) and independent prescribing rights.
  • Registration with NMC/HCPC/GPhC as applicable.
  • Two Level-7 modules; at least one including clinical examination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, treat and refer patients in urgent/emergency care settings.
  • Work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based care.
  • Lead by example and apply advanced clinical skills to make informed decisions.

Location: Northamptonshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire

Working Pattern: Full-time part-time and bankpositions available

Salary: DHU Band 8b.0, £62,484 per annum (pro rata)with a 30% evening enhancement, and 45% weekend enhancement

Job responsibilities

As an Advanced Practitioner, youll assess, diagnose,treat and refer patients with a wide range of conditionsacross urgent and emergency care settings. This meansworking autonomously as part of a collaborativemulti-disciplinary team, using your advanced clinicalskills to make a real impact when it matters most.

As a Registered Nurse, Paramedic or Pharmacist (NMC,HCPC, GPhC) with independent prescribing rights and Level7 clinical assessment skills, youll also have the confidence,autonomy and passion essential to shaping better outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Registered Adult Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Registered as an independent non medical prescriber.
  • A minimum of 2 modules at Level 7. 1 X module must have included assessment of clinical examination skills.
  • MSc (Advanced Practice)
Experience
  • Substantial Autonomous practice working and multi-professional team
  • Can show evidence of using autonomous physical examination and assessment skills in practice
  • Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children
  • Has experience in one of the following: nurse led clinics, emergency care centres ,out of hours facilities or walk in centres
  • Consolidated Independent Prescribing experience.
  • Use of examination skills in practice.
  • Experience of telephone triage
  • Experience of Emergency Care
  • Experience of General Practice

  • Can complete a concise clinical history and physical examination.
  • Can formulate a differential diagnosis and management plan.
  • Prepared to participate in service development

  • Full driving license essential (LLR Home Visiting Service only)

  • -IRMER & X-Ray interpretation.

  • Full driving Licence (All other DHU Health Care CIC divisions)
