Job summary

DHU Healthcare is recruiting an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our urgent care team in Milton Keynes with opportunities across additional bases in Northamptonshire (Northampton General, Kettering General, Danetre, Wellingborough Hospital). You will assess, diagnose and manage patients, delivering high-quality urgent care in a multi-disciplinary setting.

We value prescribing rights (NMC/HCPC/GPhC), ongoing professional development, and flexible weekend shift patterns within a 4-week rota.

Qualifications

• Must be Advanced Practitioner (Nurse, Paramedic or Pharmacist) with prescribing rights and advanced clinical skills.
• Experience in urgent care settings and multi-disciplinary teams is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients to ensure appropriate care and outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care across the service.

Advanced Practitioner. Location: Multiple locations available (Northampton General, Kettering General, Danetre, Wellingborough Hospital)

Working Pattern: Substantive weekend positions available. Various shift patterns across Saturdays and Sundays, with shift durations varying from 4 to 9 hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights. Successful applicants will be able to select from available shift patterns across a 4-week rota, to create their substantive, contracted hours.

Salary: DHU Band 8b.0, £64,234 - £74,905 per annum (pro rata) with a 30% evening enhancement, and 45% weekend enhancement

Our GP Out of Hours service across Northamptonshire plays a vital role in delivering urgent care when patients need it most. Our clinicians work at the frontline of the NHS, providing safe, effective and compassionate care outside of core GP hours. Within this service, clinicians undertake a varied and rewarding role, including telephone triage and clinical assessment, face-to-face consultations within our bases, and home visiting to support patients who are unable to attend a clinical setting. Our patients age range is all ages from 12 weeks and upwards.

You will be part of a skilled and supportive multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively to assess, diagnose and manage patients, ensuring they receive the most appropriate care and outcome. We support a diverse patient population and are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the county.
