An exciting opportunity has arisen Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioner Combined Assessment Unit at University Hospital Ayr and Crosshouse – Band 7 annex 21
25.9 hours, day shift over 7 days
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our multidisciplinary team as we build a new model of care and service provision within NHS Ayrshire and Arran. As an Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioner, you will be responsible for clinical assessment, be able to initiate investigations and undertake appropriate front line interventions for Acute Medical patients presenting to our purpose built Combined Assessment Units. A Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice, including an independent prescribing qualification is desirable. Applicants who partially meet the essential criteria will be considered for a trainee Band 7 (AfC Annex 21 applies) and where required, you will be provided with a programme of training during your initial period of employment, specifically around managing the acutely unwell adult, physical health assessment, advanced life support and area specific training. Our Combined Assessment Units hosts a dynamic team and offers Consultant/CNM led mentorship based on a comprehensive competency framework. You will be supported to undertake a funded programme of ongoing professional development.
We aim to foster creativity and innovation helping you to reach your full potential and develop your skills in providing high quality Acute Services and maintaining the 4 pillars of advanced practice. Experience within an appropriate acute clinical environment is essential together with knowledge and training equivalent to degree level. Attainment of Assessment and Decision-making in Advanced Practice module and/or Non-medical Prescribing would be highly desirable but opportunities for development would be offered, you must be willing to develop towards a Post Grad Diploma level as a minimum. You will also demonstrate experience of developing and delivering innovative and creative solutions to underpin excellent service delivery.
