Job description

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Are you currently working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner or about to complete your training? Are you interested in using your skills, knowledge and expertise in remote and rural communities? An opportunity has arose to join our motivated and dedicated team of practitioners serving the communities within Skye and Lochalsh across two hospital sites (Broadford and Portree). You would be providing care to the population of Skye (approximately 13,000). However, we do attract in the region of 1 million tourists every year so it is never dull.

You must have or be working towards the MSc in Advanced Practice, with highly developed clinical decision making skills and be able to work autonomously. An ability to think on your feet and sometimes out of the box is desirable. In return, we offer a generous relocation package and the opportunity to further develop your skills in advance practice working alongside our Rural Emergency Practitioners. We would welcome any informal visits.

The Isle of Skye and neighbouring Lochalsh are a world renowned area of natural beauty, offering lots of activities for individuals and families alike. There are mountains to climb, natural attractions to visits and lots of water activities too. There is also a thriving music scene here on Skye and lots of lovely cafes, restaurants and bars so there really is something for everyone.
