Job summary

NHS Professionals Limited is seeking an Advanced Invasive Cardiac Physiologist for Nottingham City Hospital to join the Linby Cardiology Department. You will deliver highly specialised invasive tests, interpret data and contribute to audits, research and service improvements.

You will supervise trainees, manage on-call duties and support the development of the department across both Trust sites.

Qualifications

• BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent with postgraduate qualification in progress.
• Competent in interventional cardiac cath lab procedures and cardiac device follow-up.
• Experience in structural cardiology and device implantation is advantageous.
• AHCS voluntary register accreditation desirable.
• Relevant accreditation such as IBHRE, BHRS, MSC, MSCT or ASCST desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly specialised invasive cardiac investigations including PCI procedures such as IVUS, OCT, pressure wire and rotational atherectomy, plus device implantation and follow-up.
• Demonstrate advanced technical proficiency during invasive procedures and escalate when needed.
• Provide specialist interpretation of physiological results to support clinical decisions.
• Develop expertise in designated invasive cardiology area and contribute to service improvements.
• Apply Trust policies and professional standards with judgement in complex situations.
• Promote health and safety and report hazards through required channels.
