Job summary

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a GP Out of Hours Nurse Clinician to assess, diagnose and treat patients with minor illness/injury during evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

The role covers shifts across weeks with Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and includes autonomous professional decision-making, advanced clinical assessments, and the potential to refer to secondary care when needed.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with adult specialization.
• Independent non-medical prescribing qualification.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).

Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialist advice for GP OOHs and make treatment decisions without full primary records.
• Conduct advanced clinical assessments based on nursing expertise.
• Assess, diagnose, implement and evaluate treatment for undifferentiated presentations.
• Examine patients (adult and child) and plan clinical care.
• Make autonomous professional decisions within scope of practice.
