Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust operates two Same Day Emergency Care units at the St Mary’s and Charing Cross sites and is expanding the service to optimise patient pathways.

They are seeking energetic, enthusiastic practitioners with at least 1 year of emergency or acute medicine experience to join the expansion and enhance the quality of care for patients, working with leading clinicians and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Assess diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment/interventions and care for patients presenting to the Same Day Emergency Care services.
• Empower patients to make informed choices by applying and explaining evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment/interventions for SDEC patients.
• Empower patients with information to participate in decisions about their care.
• Use expertise to inform clinical reasoning in complex presentations.
• Maintain and share service-related information to make evidence-based judgments.
• Initiate and modify interventions including medicines and lifestyle advice.
• Manage risk and support the team to ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with MDT and broader healthcare system to manage risk across settings.
• Communicate clearly with patients and carers, including breaking down complex information and delivering sensitive news.
