About The Role…

We’re recruiting Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP) and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) from various professional backgrounds including nurses, pharmacists, and paramedics. If you have experience, a Masters level award or equivalent, and are keen to take on an expanded role within Primary Care, we welcome your application.

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in our Urgent Care Centres, you will support existing clinical care to enhance the capacity and capability within our multi-professional teams. You will assess patients' health and clinical needs, conduct consultations autonomously using your advanced clinical skills and judgment to diagnose, treat, refer, or discharge patients. This role involves face-to-face work supported by a variable rota covering weekdays, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
  1. Leading clinical teams during shifts
  2. Conducting consultations with patients, including taking comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and applying your expert knowledge to identify potential diagnoses
  3. Deciding on and administering treatments, including prescribing medications or referring to specialist services within local pathways and protocols
  4. Providing clinical advice and mentorship to junior staff
Qualifications, Experience & Training…
  • Registered Nurse, Paramedic, Pharmacist
  • Master’s Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent or higher)
  • Clinical skills qualification at degree level
  • Evidence of study in minor illness
  • Independent prescriber
  • Experience or willingness to develop skills in minor injury, paediatric minor illness, and paediatric minor injury
