Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Westbourne Medical Centre

Maternity Cover

Exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (prescriber).

We are a successful GP Surgery located in Westbourne, near Bournemouth and Poole, serving over 21,000 patients.

We seek a clinically skilled, motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (prescriber) to join our multidisciplinary team, which includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, MSK specialists, Advanced Paramedic Practitioners, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacy Technicians, a Frailty Team, Salaried GPs, and Partners.

We provide extensive administrative support to reduce non-clinical workload, enabling more patient contact time.

The role involves managing urgent/same-day appointments within the Duty team, supported by a Duty GP, and includes home and care home visits as needed.

We value person-centred care, independence, and seeking advice when necessary. The successful candidate will receive ongoing mentorship and support.

This is a fixed-term, part-time role (up to 30 hours/week) for maternity cover, with flexible working days considered. Salary is negotiable, based on experience and responsibilities, and is competitive regionally.

Minimum Requirements:

• Registered with a UK regulatory body
• 2+ years proven professional experience
• Independent/extended Nurse/Paramedic Prescribing qualification
• Experience in fast-paced primary care or acute environments
• Experience managing minor ailments
• Ability to work autonomously, conducting clinical assessments and making decisions within guidelines
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• IT proficiency; SystmOne knowledge desirable
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Willingness to participate in service development and change
• Positive attitude and proactive approach
• Valid UK Driver’s License
• Cost coverage for Enhanced DBS at appointment
