Job summary

Leeds City Council is seeking an Children’s Social Work Advanced Practitioner to join a team handling assessments, CIN, CP, and care proceedings through permanence. The role emphasises restorative practice, family-led decision-making, and high-quality written work.

The post requires strong analytical skills, excellent relational work with children and families, and the ability to engage children directly. Driving is required; office-based with one home-working day on non-duty weeks.

Qualifications

• Excellent relational work with children and families.

• Organisation skills and ability to meet competing demands.
• Ability to practice restoratively with child and family and promote family led decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead worker responsibilities alongside other social workers; no supervisory/line manager duties.
• Practice restoratively with children and families and promote family-led decisions to manage risk and meet support needs.
• Engage children through direct work and child-centred practice.
• Must be able to drive and have use of a car.
• 37 hours per week; office-based for duty with hybrid working negotiable (one WFH day).
