Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Advanced Cardiac Physiologist/Echocardiographer. The post is Band 7 level depending on experience and BSE accreditation, working across the Echocardiography Team within the NCA.

The role involves independent echocardiography practice, training junior staff, and contributing to audits and service development. Informal visits are welcomed, with a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • BSE accredited qualification.
  • BSc Clinical Physiology/Healthcare Science.
  • Part 1 accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform echocardiography across the Northern Care Alliance.
  • Ensure optimal standards of care for patients.
  • Undertake autonomous interpretation and reporting of results.
  • Work collaboratively to meet daily workload.
  • Provide training, mentoring and supervision in echocardiography to trainees and staff.
  • Help develop the clinical physiology service with service leads.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date practice including mandatory training.

Advanced Cardiac Physiologist/Echocardiographer

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Cardiac Physiologist to join our Team at Northern Care Alliance.

Band 7 depending on experience and BSE accreditation.

The Advanced Cardiac Physiologist will be working in our Echocardiography Team across the NCA.

Be a dynamic active member of the echocardiography team supporting the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate service working closely with patients, multi-disciplinary teams and consultants. Support the training of junior staff and audit activity on a daily basis. To work in line with BSE guidelines.

The department offers a full spectrum of invasive and non invasive cardiac diagnostic investigations and is committed to developing staff and supporting CPD.

Main duties of the job

Independently practice with a high level of skill and autonomy within the field of echocardiography, providing service across Northern Care Alliance

Ensure optimal standards of care are provided to patients.

Undertake autonomous interpretation of results and provision of accurate clinical reports.

Work collaboratively on a day to day basis with colleagues to ensure that the daily workload needs are met.

Provide specialist advice, training, mentoring and supervision in the field of echocardiography to trainee cardiac physiologists, nursing and medical staff and any other professionals that require supportive training as part of their extended roles

Work with the service leads in further developing the clinical physiology service.

Assist in monitoring and maintaining quality of service and participate in clinical audits.

Actively participate in multi-disciplinary clinical review meetings

Ensure that individual practice is up to date including mandatory and professional training.
