This unique and rewarding opportunity places you at the heart of quality management within one of the UK's most forward-thinking and digitally transformed laboratory environments. You will play a pivotal role in upholding and enhancing our ISO15189:2022 accreditation, and contribute directly to our culture of continuous improvement and laboratory excellence.

As the Quality Lead, you will support the departmental Quality Manager and be a senior figure in leading our internal quality systems, inspiring a culture of best practice, regulatory compliance, and innovation.

Join the team that celebrated publication of multiple national articles regarding laboratory transformation, won the RCPath Achievement Award 2024 for transformational lab workflow and digital pathology deployment, and is proudly shortlisted for the IBMS Team of the Year Award 2025.

  • Serve as a departmental leader for quality, working in partnership with the Quality Manager to maintain and enhance our ISO15189:2022 standards.
  • Be a role model for quality culture, driving audit, document control, non-conformance investigations, and continuous improvement across the service.
  • Lead and motivate a team of Biomedical Scientists and support staff, ensuring professional development, operational excellence, and high morale.
  • Support operational performance through effective planning, troubleshooting, and technical expertise, particularly in quality and compliance areas.
  • Oversee and actively contribute to the review and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality indicators, and risk assessments.
  • Participate in and lead internal audits, assist in external quality assessments, and help prepare for accreditation visits.
  • Champion innovation and contribute to service development projects, including research, clinical trials, and implementation of cutting-edge technologies.
  • Promote collaborative working relationships across disciplines and with external stakeholders, ensuring exceptional patient-focused service delivery.
