JOB TITLE: Advanced Analytics Manager

SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £65,385 - £72,650

LOCATION: You’ll be based within one of our Data Centres of Excellence in Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I), which are in Bristol, Edinburgh and Leeds

HOURS: 35 hours, full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

What you’ll need

  • A Proficiency in data modelling tools and techniques (e.g., ER modelling for operational systems, dimensional modelling for analytics/data warehousing, understand Kimball versus Inmon).

  • Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL, NoSQL, and understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.

  • Understanding of data integration and data governance principles.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify data modelling requirements and constraints.

  • Capability to analyse complex datasets and derive insights to inform the data modelling process

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Deep understanding of the business domain they are working in. This helps in creating effective data models that accurately represent business processes and requirements.

  • Awareness of industry-specific standards and best practices related to data modelling and database design.

  • Strong problem-solving skills to address issues related to data quality, data integration, and performance optimization in data models.

  • Ability to articulate technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner, makes use of analogies for non-technical audiences.
