As an Analytics Engineer at Boku, you’ll bridge the gap between raw data and business insights. Your core mission will be to design, build, and maintain clean, scalable data models that enable reliable and efficient analytics across the organisation. This role combines strong technical skills with a deep understanding of how data supports decision-making.

You’ll work closely with analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders to ensure the availability of high-quality, well-modelled data for reporting, dashboards, and data-driven initiatives. Key Objectives

  • Develop modular, maintainable data models usingdbtand cloud data warehousing tools
  • Promote consistency and trust in data through robustdata validation, governance, and documentation
  • Partner with analysts and stakeholders to define and deliver core business logic and metrics
  • Enable scalable, self-service analytics through well-structured semantic layers

Core Responsibilities

  • Build and maintaindbt models, views, and transformations to support business intelligence and analytics
  • Translate business requirements into performant and reliableETL/ELT pipelinesusing SQL and Python
  • Collaborate on metric definitions and shared data logic that supports reporting and analysis across teams
  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of scalabledata warehouse architecture
  • Conduct QA, validation, and testing of data pipelines and dashboard outputs
  • Integrate external data sources and APIs into internal data ecosystems
  • Maintain clear documentation and contribute to a culture ofknowledge sharing

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate experience or capability in the following areas. You may have gained these through employment, education, or personal projects:

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency inSQLandPythonfor data transformation and scripting
  • Experience building data models withdbtor similar tools
  • Understanding of moderndata warehousing platforms(e.g. Redshift)
  • Familiarity withdata modelling techniquesand transformation best practices
  • Experience withAPI integrationand working with external data sources
  • Exposure toBI tools(e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc) and data visualisation concepts
  • Understanding of version control systems likeGit

Desirable Knowledge:

  • Experience working withETL/ELT tools(e.g., Informatica, Airflow)
  • Familiarity withcloud platforms(AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Understanding ofdata governanceanddata quality assuranceprocesses
  • Experience inregulated industriessuch as financial services/payments is a plus
