Job summary

Qualifications

• Undergraduate in Mechanical/Automotive/Aeronautical Engineering with at least two years completed.
• Expect 2:1 (or above) on track for honours.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Developing and applying simulation methods to support product development.
• Generating and evaluating engineering concepts to improve product performance.
• Creating data analysis tools to interpret test results.
• Collaborating with engineers, suppliers and customers across disciplines.

AP Racing is offering an exciting 13-month placement for undergraduate engineers looking to gain hands‑on experience within a globally recognised company. Starting in July 2027, you'll work on real engineering challenges, develop industry‑relevant skills, and contribute to the development of cutting‑edge products.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Developing and applying simulation methods to support product development.
• Generating and evaluating engineering concepts to improve product performance.
• Creating data analysis tools to interpret internal and external test results.
• Collaborating with engineers, suppliers and customers across multiple disciplines.
• Taking ownership of real engineering projects and helping shape product development.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• MATLAB, Python or similar programming tools
• Data Analysis
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

What We’re Looking For

• An undergraduate who has completed at least two years of study and is on track for a 2:1 or above.
• Studying Mechanical, Motorsport, Automotive, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Eager to learn new skills, with strong problem‑solving abilities and a creative approach to challenges.
• Passionate about engineering, self‑motivated, and proactive in their work.
• A strong team player with effective communication skills.
• Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship.
