Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join a learning disabilities and project work service on a locum basis. The post requires SW England registration, LD/Autism experience, and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker with SW England registration.

• Knowledge of Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act.
• Experience reviewing complex care packages.
• Access to own vehicle is essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete Care Act 2014 assessments, including complex and high-cost care packages.
• Undertake timely reviews following changes in individuals' needs or circumstances.
• Deliver a minimum of two completed and recorded assessments per week.
• Carry out face-to-face assessments and reviews.
• Involve advocates, carers, and families.
• Analyse and evaluate care and support arrangements.
• Work closely with brokerage and contracts colleagues.
• Ensure care packages maximise independence and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate and defensible records.

Job description

Our client Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for an Adults Social Worker to join their Learning Disabilities & project work service. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Locum Social Worker who will work closely with the Senior Social Worker and the Contracts and Brokerage Team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support within a specialist service. This role sits within a county-wide specialist team working with adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism (LD&A). A key focus of the role is reviewing complex and high-cost care packages to ensure they are delivering positive outcomes, remain proportionate to need, and represent good value for public resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete Care Act 2014 assessments, including complex and high-cost care packages
• Undertake timely reviews following changes in individuals' needs or circumstances
