Adults Social Worker - Centralised Safeguarding Triage Team

Working Style:
The Team
We are currently offering an experienced Social Worker the opportunity to be a part of ECC’s Safeguarding Triage team service, focused on triaging and managing all new safeguarding concerns referred into Adult Social Care.
The team supports effective decision making to ensure section 42 enquiries are progressed appropriately. The role includes oversight and screening of incoming safeguarding workflow, with strong links to all quadrants, as section 42 enquiries remain their responsibility. This allows building strong networks across all areas.
The position is home and office based, with opportunities to visit adults across Essex for triaging based on risk levels and communication. The service aims to provide a consistent approach to triaging and progressing enquiries, offering more accurate safeguarding data for Adult Social Care.
This is an innovative approach for Essex County Council. The successful applicant will help shape how safeguarding is personalized under the Care Act thresholds.
About You
You should be a qualified social worker post-ASYE with current Social Work England registration. You will have established experience in Adult Social Care, social work practice, and providing advice in complex situations. As a subject matter expert, you should have a comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
Experience in chairing meetings with clients, families, carers, and multi-agency professionals is required. You should be able to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the community to support vulnerable adults.

This role involves travel around Essex and beyond. A driving license and access to a car, or alternative mobility means, are essential.
