We seek an enthusiastic and experienced social worker to join our community team to cover maternity leave. Your role involves working with adults to assess their support needs, promoting independence, and preventing future needs using person-centred approaches, community engagement, reablement, and commissioned services.

You should be confident in all Legislative Frameworks related to Adult Social Care, able to work autonomously, and possess strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and negotiation skills. We are looking for passionate individuals dedicated to supporting the Blackpool community, committed to your role, and eager to develop in line with SWE protocols. We provide a visible management team and comprehensive induction to facilitate your transition into this role.

Role Purpose:

To provide professional social work support and interventions that enable individuals to maintain independence and quality of life across various settings.

To support individuals, families, and carers by conducting holistic assessments, providing advice and information, and facilitating access to services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake assessments, reviews, and commissioning of services per departmental policies and statutory guidance (e.g., The Care Act 2014)
  • Participate in safeguarding procedures, including investigation and acting as Safeguarding Lead when appropriate
  • Collaborate with other teams, providers, carers, and external agencies to deliver outcome-focused services
  • Adhere to departmental policies, the HCPC Code of Conduct, and the capability framework
  • Empower individuals to make informed choices under the Care Act (2014)
  • Maintain current knowledge of social care issues and developments
  • Attend supervision and staff meetings, utilize IT systems for record-keeping, and comply with administrative and financial procedures

You must have:

  • A professional qualification in social work and experience working with children
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced DBS/Update service
  • References for the last 5 years of employment
