Job Advert: Adults - Social Worker

Location: Welshpool

Start Date: 30 September 2025

Duration: 12 Weeks

Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Salary: PAYE: £26.65 per hour | Umbrella: £34.15 per hour

Are you a compassionate and qualified Social Worker with expertise in supporting older people? NRW People is excited to offer a temporary role within Powys’ Adults Services team, based in Welshpool. Starting 30 September 2025, this 12-week position addresses a temporary peak in workload, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults in a vibrant Welsh community.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and develop care plans for older people, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being.
  • Provide tailored support and advocacy, collaborating with healthcare providers and families to enhance quality of life.
  • Monitor and review cases, offering interventions to address complex needs such as dementia or mobility issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with Social Care Wales standards and safeguarding protocols.
  • Contribute to community-based initiatives, supporting older residents in Welshpool and surrounding areas (e.g., 20 minutes to Llanfyllin, 24 minutes to Newtown).
What We’re Looking For
  • A qualified Social Worker with experience in adult social care, specialising in older people’s services.
  • Strong assessment and case management skills, with a person-centred approach to care.
  • Ability to work full-time (37 hours) and travel within Powys as needed.
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to Welshpool, Powys.
Essential Requirements
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Current Social Care Wales Registration.
  • 5 years of references/work history.
  • DBS Summary Form (to be submitted with application).
  • Signed Confidentiality Agreement (required upon offer acceptance).
