Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking an experienced Adults Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join the social care team in Walsall. You will support adults with care and support needs and their carers to achieve positive outcomes, maintain independence and enhance wellbeing.

You will undertake strengths-based assessments, develop and review care and support plans, and advocate for people while safeguarding when required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake strengths-based assessments and care planning for adults and carers in line with the Care Act 2014.
• Develop, implement, and review person-centred care and support plans that promote independence and positive outcomes.
• Manage a varied caseload, ensuring work is completed within statutory and local timescales.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks, ensuring appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.
• Lead safeguarding enquiries, planning, and reviews to protect adults from abuse or neglect.
• Advocate for adults, ensuring their voice is heard and access to independent advocacy is provided where required.
• Work collaboratively with families, communities, and multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with council requirements.
• Participate in regular supervision and escalate significant concerns appropriately.
• Support and mentor newly qualified social workers, students, and less experienced team members.

Our client Walsall Council is looking for a Adults QSW to join their social care team.

As a Social Worker, you will support adults with care and support needs and their carers to achieve positive outcomes, maintain independence, and enhance their well being. You will undertake strengths-based assessments, develop and review care and support plans, lead safeguarding enquiries where required, and work collaboratively with individuals, families, and partner agencies. The role requires professional, person-centred practice in line with the Care Act 2014, Social Work England standards, and council policies.
